Lunar New Year Celebration at Zhulin Temple
On the evening of January 28, Zhulin Temple was bustling with joy as it hosted the 2025 Lunar New Year’s Eve celebration themed “Golden Snake Brings Auspices, Yi Yi Brings Harmony.” Devotees and friends from all walks of life gathered in a festive and harmonious atmosphere to bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new, sharing the joy of Dharma.
The celebration began at 8:30 PM, with the abbot, Venerable Jie Wen, leading the assembly in chanting sutras and prayers, collectively wishing for peace, prosperity, and spiritual growth in the coming year.
At 9:30 PM, the abbot and government officials delivered speeches, extending blessings to the attendees and expressing gratitude to the supporters of the monastery. The subsequent cultural performances were a feast for the senses, seamlessly blending traditional and modern elements, bringing both joy and inspiration to the audience.
At 11:30 PM, honored guests proceeded to the main hall, where they participated in incense offering under the guidance of Abbot Jie Wen, expressing their heartfelt wishes for the new year. Monastery monks and devotees together rang the bell and chanted sutras, wishing everyone a happy new year filled with family happiness and blessings.
"May wisdom and merit grow, and health and peace prevail!" With the resonating sound of the bell and drum, the celebration reached its climax.
At 11:50 PM, the lion and dragon dance performances brought the festive spirit to life. The energetic and rhythmic movements won thunderous applause from the audience.
At midnight, a dazzling fireworks display lit up the night sky, pushing the celebration to its peak and ushering in the new year with joy and hope.
2025 Lunar New Year celebration at Zhulin Temple was not just a festive gathering but also a spiritual feast, showcasing the wisdom and compassion of Buddhist culture and attracting enthusiastic participation from all sectors of society.
